    1938 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The effects of Lou Gehrig's demise began in 1938 as he started to slow down from the degenerative disease which would ultimately be named after him. Despite the inevitable doom, Gehrig still managed to hit .295 and club 29 round-trippers. Endorsed by the 1938 Yankees is this OAL (Harridge) baseball. "1938" is scrawled across one side panel. Gehrig shares the sweet spot along with Jake Powell. Most signatures register in between 5-6/10 with a few lesser. Gehrig rates on the upper levels of our average grade.
