Description

1938 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. A four-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs in the World Series this season would be the final thrill for the Iron Horse, though he would call himself the world's luckiest man in a July fourth farewell speech the coming season. The brave and tragic baseball hero appropriately occupies the sweet spot of this Official Joe DiMaggio League ball, perhaps a touch light but still entirely legible and unmistakable. Joining him are twenty-two of his pinstriped pals, most notably DiMaggio, Henrich, Ruffing, Dickey (clubhouse), Gomez (clubhouse) and Crosetti. The vast majority of the signatures rate 5/10 or better, with only a couple slipping a notch or two below. The ball itself is mellowed to an attractive, even sepia tone. A fine artifact from one of the best ballclubs ever assembled in the Bronx. LOA from PSA/DNA.
