1936-45 Babe Ruth Signed Baseball with Artwork by John Giancaspro. One of the more unique and attractive Babe Ruth signed baseball's in the hobby today, the exemplar offered here prominently displays The Sultan of Swat's large and bold autograph across the sweet spot of a NRMT white Wilson "Official American Association" sphere in 8.5/10 steel-tip black fountain pen. The ball was signed sometime between 1936-45, as John Trautman's tenure as steward of the American Association attests.

Filling the entire panel below The Bambino's magnificent application resides a spectacular original watercolor vignette of Ruth, donning his Yankees cap and pinstripes, by renowned baseball artist John Giancaspro. Giancaspro, who has been painting baseball stars since he was twelve years old, has been so widely recognized for his work that he was commissioned by The Topps Company to produce artwork for their card sets.

While the ball originally contained at least one other signature, today only the Caliph of Clot remains. The clarity of Ruth's autograph, tremendous condition of the baseball, the beauty of Giancaspro's artwork, and overall uniqueness of this offering seamlessly combine to produce a truly awesome display piece, weighty enough to hold its own at Cooperstown or any top-tier private collection.
