1934 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA EX-MT+ 6.5. A decade and a half of pinstriped service would come to an end this year for a man whose influence upon the New York Yankees, and upon baseball at large, remains unparalleled to this day. His skills in decline, worn down by thirty-nine years on Earth and two decades of hard living in the Major Leagues, the Babe accepted a pay cut from Jake Ruppert for the 1934 season but remained the highest-paid player in the game. He lobbied throughout the season for the managerial position, but Ruppert remained loyal to Joe McCarthy and made it clear to Ruth that a minor league post was the best he could offer.

And so, soon after he applied his 8/10 black fountain pen signature to the sweet spot of this Babe Ruth Home Run Special sphere, the Babe bade farewell to the House He Built and returned to the town where he'd made his Big League debut for a sad limp to the finish line of his playing career. Though the Yanks would fail to wrest the American League flag from the front-running Detroit Tigers in 1934, collectors properly covet Yankees baseballs of this vintage as mileposts marking the end of the team's greatest era.

Twenty signatures join Ruth's on the provided horsehide, and we assess the Hall of Famers as follows: Gehrig (8/10), Dickey (7/10), Ruffing (6/10), Lazzeri (5/10), Sewell (4/10), Gomez (3/10). The experts at PSA/DNA assign an overall grade to the twenty-five autographs present of 7/10, with the ball garnering a 6/10 rating for the combined grade as listed. Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
