1933 Babe Ruth Single Signed Home Run Baseball with Period Newspaper Documentation.
The Babe's most famous home run of 1933 was struck in Major League Baseball's inaugural All-Star Game--the first long ball in Midsummer Classic history--but the offered OAL (Harridge) sphere is one of thirty-four launched in support of the New York Yankees cause. Sadly, the precise details of the event are lost to history, but a pair of vintage news clippings document the presentation to our consignor's great-uncle. An excerpt:

"On that date he received a home run baseball autographed by Babe Ruth, home run king and hero to thousands of youngsters. The ball was sent to him by his uncle, C.D. Costello of New York, who got it from a sports writer on the staff of the New York Times."

The young recipient unfortunately took his special gift to the sandlot, leaving the sweet spot signature and the ball's stamping considerably diminished, but both are visible upon close inspection. Clearly the primary appeal here is the ironclad attribution to the Bambino's collection of 714 round trippers. It's a tangible building block of one of American sports' greatest masterpieces. Period newspaper clippings. Letter of provenance from great-nephew of original recipient. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
