    Description

1933 Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig & More Signed Baseball from Day Gehrig Broke Consecutive Games Record. The handwriting strains the eyes, but we can spot the words "Gehrig" and "1308," matching an included letter of provenance stating that a top hobby figure purchased this ball from a woman whose grandmother had been in attendance at the August 17, 1933 game in St. Louis when the Iron Man topped Everett Scott with his 1,308th consecutive game. Gehrig's signature is thankfully the strongest on the ball, rating 8/10. It must be noted that Gehrig went back over his letter "r," presumably to darken it. Ruth is 2/10 on the sweet spot. Bill Dickey, at 7/10, is the only other readily legible signature on the ball, though the experts tell us that Tony Lazzeri and Herb Pennock are among those too light for human vision, confirmed by video spectrometry. Ball is non-official. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Letter of provenance from early hobby expert.
