Description

1931 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The Babe's essential signature takes its usual sweet spot position on the offered Official Pacific League baseball, likely applied during one of Ruth's many west coast excursions. His black fountain pen ink survives at a strength of 6/10 beneath a coating of shellac which colors the ball a tobacco shade. Some writing on the western panel is clearly a personalization and date, but it's tough to make out and it's not apparent whether the writing is in Ruth's hand or not. It is clearly not an autograph of any form, however, cementing the single signed status of the ball. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
