Description

1930's Grover Cleveland Alexander Single Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA VG-EX+ 4.5. He's the saddest figure of the Hall of Fame's inaugural class, a brilliant athlete who succumbed to his personal demons after leaving the limelight, and ultimately to an ignominious death in a Nebraska boarding house in 1950. An unfinished letter to his ex-wife was found in his typewriter when a friend discovered his body. Alexander's absence from the public eye following his retirement from the game has made his the most difficult autograph of the 1939 inductees, and here we present a nice single honoring Old Pete. The sweet spot signature is graded 4/10 while the ball is a point higher for a final grade of PSA/DNA 4.5. A solid single from one of baseball's most unique figures. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, VG-EX+ 4.5.
