Description

1930 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. OAL (Barnard) orb includes six Cooperstown residents with Ruth across the sweet spot, surrounded by Gehrig, Combs, Lazzeri, Dickey, and Pennock. Others Yanks include Shawkey (manager), Bengough, Pipgras, Byrd, Lary, Hargrave, Rice, Reese, Johnson, Sherid, Holloway, and Karlon. Strangely, Chicago White Sox outfielder Smead Jolley also appears on the ball. A lifetime .305 hitter, he is considered one of the worst fielders ever to play and holds the dubious distinction of committing three errors on a single play (although the official scorer only credited him with two). The toned ball was shellacked to preserve the nineteen autographs which have an overall grade of 6/10, with Ruth a 6/10 and Gehrig a 7/10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
