Description
1929 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The Tigers would walk it off in the tenth inning the day this ball was signed, completing an unlikely comeback from four down to the Yanks in the bottom of the ninth, but the Babe struck his 492nd career home run the day he laid pen to horsehide for a Motor City fan. His black fountain pen signature is wonderfully bold on the sweet spot of this non-official sphere, rating 8/10, while a notation in an unknown hand just below reads, "Detroit, July 17, 1929."The leather has adopted an amber shade from decades of storage, with a few scattered scuffs, but the signature shines through admirably (TJ Hickey is stamped). A quality example of the hobby's primary building block. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
