Description

1928 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The Yanks dropped both halves of a Bronx doubleheader against the St. Louis Browns this date, but a silver lining from that dark cloud lives on, an OAL (Barnard) ball autographed by the hard-slugging leader of the eventual World Champs. His black fountain pen sweet spot signature projects with conservative 7/10 boldness, and an unknown hand has supplied two side panels with an artfully lettered notation that reads, "This Ball Autographed by The 'King of Swat' Presented to John Martin at the Yankee Stadium, Aug. 24th, 1928, New York vs. St. Louis." A splendid relic from what is arguably the most dominant two-season span in pinstriped history. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
