Description
1927 Philadelphia Athletics Team Signed Baseball. After competition from the rogue Federal League forced Connie Mack to dismantle what may have been the finest compilation of baseball talent ever to inhabit a single dugout in the mid-Teens, the Tall Tactician was steadily building toward his second great masterpiece that would eclipse even the Yankees of Ruth and Gehrig in the coming seasons. This OAL (Johnson) sphere may be even more desirable to collectors than the World Championship models to come, as it features a selection of iconic veterans who helped pave the way but retired before the glory days arrived. Marvelous offerings from Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins and Zack Wheat are counted among the twenty-one 7/10 and better black ink offerings, joined by the likes of Cochrane, Mack, Grove, Gleason, Dykes, Hale, Perkins, Boley and Rommel. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.Auction Info
