A killer representation from Murderer's Row!

1927 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Of the twenty-seven pinstriped editions to deliver World Championship glory to the fans in the Bronx, this Golden Age club stands in baseball lore as the finest of the lot. In fact, this club is the answer most commonly given by baseball experts and historians when pressed to name the greatest baseball team of all time, bar none. When one considers the roster made available to Hall of Fame manager Miller Huggins, the reasoning behind this wide consensus becomes clear.

The all but supernatural slugging powers of home run king Babe Ruth and season MVP Lou Gehrig fed an unprecedented offensive onslaught that saw the Yanks almost quadruple the American League team home run average. Earle Combs topped the League in both singles and triples. Bob Meusel and Tony Lazzeri each reached triple-digits in the RBI column. So deadly were the bats that stacked the Yankee line-up that sportswriters referred to the club with the rather sinister moniker "Murderer's Row."

We suspect that this spectacular memento of the sport's greatest force dates to either Opening Day or World Series action, our supporting evidence coming in the form of an autograph from New York City mayor Jimmy Walker, who shares sweet spot duties with the iconic Babe Ruth, signing in his early quotation-marked format. Ruth (8/10) is one of seven future Hall of Famers present among the twenty-eight signers, joined by Gehrig (7/10), Pennock (5/10), Lazzeri (4/10), Combs (5/10), Hoyt (6/10) and the rare and desirable Miller Huggins (7/10), who would perish before the end of the decade.

Joining Huggins in rarity and tragic early death is pitching ace Urban Shocker, one of the more notable non-Hall of Famers, along with Giard, Thomas, Bengough, Grabowski, Collins, Meusel, Gazella, Koenig and Durst. Signatures average a solid 6/10, with each and every signature fully discernible. The OAL (Johnson) ball is a single-season format that further validates the elite vintage. It exhibits a degree of surface wear, but our catalog imagery should convey that such concerns are minor. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
