Description
1927 "Babe" Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The brilliant Bambino was just two weeks from hitting the first of his record-setting sixty home runs during the Yankees' most glorious season when he autographed the sweet spot of this Harwood baseball for a fan in West Palm Beach, Florida near the close of 1927 spring training. The black fountain pen survives at a boldness of 7/10 upon this toned and evidently game used sphere, as a barely discernible notation on the western panel appears to provide a game score of some sort. The eastern panel reveals a notation (in an unknown hand) which reads "West Palm Beach 3-31-27." Rest assured that Ruth is the only autograph present though, with the 1927 vintage elevating this specimen to the peak of desirability for collectors looking for something special.
