1927 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. Not only does this Spalding Star model baseball feature the signature of Babe Ruth on the sweet spot, but it is also dated to the year of the most feared lineup in baseball history - the 1927 New York Yankees. Leading the slugging crew known as "Murderer's Row," Ruth, along with Lou Gehrig and pals, batted .307 as a team with 975 runs scored. Gehrig was named MVP while Ruth set a new record with sixty home runs in a season.

The offered baseball is a nicely toned example with creasing and cracking on the cover, but sports a lengthy inscription from Ruth: "To (unreadable), From Babe Ruth, Jan. 23, 1927." The "E" in "Babe," "Jan." and "1927" have all been traced over in an unknown hand. Otherwise, the signature grades a 6/10 with a spot of white touching the second "B." Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
