Description
1927-28 Ty Cobb Multi-Signed Baseball. At the tender age of 41, Ty Cobb decided it was time to hang up the spikes for the final time. If a man can only hit .323, he is of no good to the baseball world. He did hit at a .357 clip at forty years old mind you. We estimate the vintage of this ONL (Tooley) International League baseball as being signed during Cobb's tenure with the Philadelphia A's in either 1927 or '28. The ball has aged and has a few chips and abrasions from years of storage. But Cobb signed a side panel in brilliant black fountain pen. His unmistakable penning displays as a single and rates 9/10. Three other autographs occupy adjacent side panels. Everett Scott, Joe Boley and one more ballplayer signed as well. But the cantankerous Cobb autographs outshines them all on this glorious orb. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.More information about Ty Cobb.
