1924 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. If there was any man who had a soft spot for kids, especially those in need, it was Babe Ruth. From age seven until he was ready to play baseball for a living, Ruth resided at St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys. Ruth was always an accommodating signer when approached. Our guess is he was really took his time when he knew this signed baseball was benefiting homeless children. Ruth inscribed the sweet spot of this ONL ball in 6/10 steel tip ink: "To The Homeless Children Benefit Ball 1924." We are pleased to report Ruth's side panel signature is a notch up and registers in at 7.5/10. A minor stain appears on the first "B" in Babe. Regular toning appears on the horsehide. While there are a great deal of signed Ruth baseballs from the 1930's and '40's, very few date to the earlier days of his baseball dominance. This one, especially with the charity overtones, will have special meaning in the collecting world. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
