Description

1920-24 Babe Ruth & John McGraw Multi-Signed Baseball. Led by their brash young star, the Bronx Bombers captured three consecutive A.L. flags during the period this ball was signed, including their first World Series crown. The Sultan of Swat appears across the sweet spot of this OAL (Johnson) ball in an early and highly coveted format featuring the famed quotation marks.

The Bambino is joined by fellow Hall of Famer John McGraw, perhaps the National League's most influential figure in the Deadball Era, From 1902 to 1932, he led the New York Giants to ten N.L. pennants, three World Series titles, and twenty-one first- or second-place finishes in twenty-nine full seasons at their helm. Also appearing on this sphere is heralded skipper Pat Moran and pitcher Nick Altrock, both of whom were two-time World Series champs. Please note that the signature of Miller Huggins has been deemed a clubhouse version.

The ball has gracefully aged to a light cream color and exhibits scuffing and a hole from when it was mounted in a display. However, the league stamping remains very prominent. Meanwhile, a light coat of shellack was applied to preserve the black steel-tip fountain pen autographs with the following grades: Ruth (8/10), McGraw (6/10), Moran (4/10) and Altrock (8/10). Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
