    Description

1910 Official American League Baseball in Original Box.
This is the type of baseball which was used when Ty Cobb and Napoleon Lajoie had one of the more unique races in the history of batting titles. The victor would receive a vehicle from the Chalmers Automobile Company. In the end, controversy became the prevailing theme and both were awarded an automobile. This Reach Official American League baseball is nestled in the same box it was originally issued in. Even the inside paper is still formed around the ball. The stampings are deep and dark (other than the "1 Oz. Rubber" reference) as this beauty rarely saw light through the years. The blue and red stitching remains tight. Moderate to heavy creasing is visible on the box and the top seal is broken. We are able to link the ball to 1910 because of the patent date and lack of having a cork center mention.
