1908 Nap Rucker No-Hitter Last Out Game Used Baseball. Originally acquired directly from the daughter of this talented Brooklyn Superbas hurler, the presented ONL sphere served to record the final out of Rucker's September 5, 1908 no-hitter against the overmatched Boston Doves (who would come to be known as the Braves from 1912 onward). Three errors on behalf of his fielders denied Rucker the perfecto, as he allowed no walks in his dominating performance either. Notated in his vintage hand are the details: "Sept. 5 - 8 (meaning Sept. 5, 1908), Brooklyn, NY, Struck Out 14, Shut out No hits." All but the first panel challenge the eyes a bit, but nothing can diminish the impressive historical significance. The earliest no-hit ball we've ever encountered in the hobby, and quite possibly the oldest to exist, period.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
