Description
1990 Oakland Athletics American League Championship Ring Presented to the Team Doctor. Powered by A.L. MVP Rickey Henderson, A.L. Cy Young winner Bob Welch, the Bash Brothers' combined seventy-six homers and 209 RBI, and Eck's forty-eight saves, the A's won 103 games and the A.L. flag before falling to the Reds in the Fall Classic. The face of this 10k gold ring displays a figural elephant (which harkens back to the team's original logo) with three real diamonds (representing the team's three consecutive A.L. titles) atop a gleaming green stone, surrounded by "Oakland American League Champions." The left side reports "Goldman, A's-4 B-0" plus the team logo. The right side reveals "1990 Athletics" with a motif of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum and "2,900,217," which was the attendance figure for the year. The ring weighs forty-five grams (45 g.) and measures to a size of ten and a half (10.5), with "10K Jostens" stamped inside the band. Very nice condition.
The ring was presented to the Oakland A's team doctor, Jerry Goldman, after the 1990 season. Letter of provenance from Jerry Goldman's son.
