1976 George Scott Gold Glove Award. In a 14-season career George Scott belted 271 home runs to go along with 1,051 RBIs. His nickname was "Boomer" and he called his glove "black beauty." The three-time All-Star and eight-time Gold Glover wore a necklace which he once identified to a reporter as being composed of "the second baseman's teeth".

This Gold Glove award, Scott's eighth and final, was presented to the first baseman in 1976. The three-tier wood base measures 6.5x17.5x16" and is adorned with a plaque on front which reads "1976 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Presented To George Scott - 8 Time Winner Honoring His Selection To The Sporting News American League All Star Fielding Team". Above are two red "Rawlings" logo plaques. At the front of the third wooden tier is a image of Scott etched on a gold plaque. Sitting atop is a gold first baseman's mitt. General handling wear is evident with some adhesive residue that has leaked out from under the third tier of the base. Also, please be advised that there is a slight split in the first tier along the left edge.
