    1965-67 Roberto Clemente Game Used Bat. The pride of Puerto Rico owned and operated this signature model Hillerich & Bradsby U1 during what is considered the most productive offensive period of his Hall of Fame career, elevating the offered ash weapon to the upper echelon of known examples. Oddly, of the three seasons during which this bat may have seen action, it was only during Clemente's 1966 National League Most Valuable Player season that the Pirates slugger did not win the batting title, posting .329 and .357 averages in 1965 and 1967 respectively. Only twice in Clemente's eighteen-year career did he top 100 runs batted in during a season, and both of these seasons (1966-67) fall within the three-year labeling range of this important relic. The bat exhibits evidence of light use, with a few ball marks and stitch impressions visible on the left barrel, along with green, red and black bat rack streaks. Number "21" is applied in vintage marker to the handle end of the bat, displaying Clemente's preferred knobless style. Length and weight are thirty-six inches and thirty-six and a half ounces respectively. Like a circa 1927 Ruth or a circa 1956 Mantle, the presented Clemente will appeal to bat collectors who demand only the best. Graded GU 7. LOA from PSA/DNA.
