Description

1954 Mickey Mantle Signed Cut. "Why would you have Randy Jackson's autograph on a samurai sword?"

"'cause I bumped into him and all I had on me was this samurai sword...and you're not gonna not get Randy Jackson's autograph, right?"

Taking a page from the playbook of the classic comedy Step Brothers, autograph seeker "Frankie" appeared to only have a copy of 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary on him at the time and what was he going to do? Not get Mickey Mantle's autograph?

Think again. Mantle signed the back side of this 4x6.5" book cover and addressed it "To Frankie My Best Wishes a pal" with an impeccable vintage signature. The lower edge features "Yanks 8 Balt. 2 Hotel Emmerson - 9-8-54 Baltimore" written in purple ink in an unknown hand. The Mick went 1-5 with two RBIs, one run, and a triple in the smacking of the Orioles on that date. Overall the cover shows moderate creasing and wear but the signature and inscription are only slightly impacted by light creasing. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
