1926 St. Louis Cardinals World Series Championship Ring Presented to Catcher Ernie Vick. He was a star for both the baseball and football teams at the University of Michigan in his youth and signed with the St. Louis Cardinals straight out of college, serving five seasons before abandoning our national pastime for a second professional sports career with the Chicago Bears of the NFL. During the 1926 season from which this important relic derives, Vick became the preferred catcher of Hall of Fame legend Grover Cleveland Alexander, an essential figure in claiming the National League pennant and later a World Series Championship over the mighty New York Yankees.

Check out Vick's Wikipedia page and you'll find a reference to this ring: "In 1958, when Vick visited the Baseball Hall of Fame, a New York newspaper reported that he was wearing a 1926 World Series ring that had been on his finger for 32 years." Clearly this relic was deeply treasured by the World Champion, and the evidence appears in the heavy wear that has eroded much (but not all) of the fourteen-karat (14K) gold details beyond visibility. We direct interested bidders to our online imagery for the best method to assess wear.

A genuine diamond rests at center of the face, where the very edges of text that once read, "St. Louis Cardinals, World Champions." Classic birds and bat logo at each shank is likewise partially visible. Text at interior band is considerably more legible, announcing, "Presented to Henry A. Vick by Base Ball Commissioner." Size eight (8). Weight is seventeen grams (17 g.).
