1925-30 Jimmie Foxx Game Used Bat. Hanna Manufacturing model TA 76 6 Foxx model Georgia Driver Steel Temper bat exhibits moderate use from the hands of one of only two men to slug his way into the 500 Home Run Club prior to the start of the Second World War. While Hillerich & Bradsby has remained the standard of the industry for the last century of Major League Baseball, Hanna did enjoy a fair degree of popularity from the 1920's to the 1940's, with the legendary Lou Gehrig one of the brand's most noteworthy proponents. Photographic records find many players gripping Hanna bats throughout the era.

Moderate use is evident, with several ball marks visible on right and back barrel. This Foxx representation measures an even thirty-six for both inches and ounces. The weight matches factory ordering records for Hillerich & Bradsby, as it does for handle style, knob and barrel dimensions, though Foxx typically used thirty-five inch bats. Later H&B records do show Foxx ordering thirty-six inch bats, however, so such a length is not unprecedented for Foxx. Hanna factory records do not exist, unfortunately. These factors give our authenticators confidence that the bat was indeed used by Foxx during the referenced labeling period, and inspire them to assign a grade of GU 6. LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
