    Description

1922 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The Yankees were still crashing at the New York Giants' Polo Grounds bachelor pad and yet to record their first World Championship season when the Bambino applied his black fountain pen signature to the provided OAL (Johnson) baseball. Today that signature presents somewhere between a 6/10 and 7/10 in strength, with an unknown hand adding a "1922" date to the southern panel below. The ball is evenly toned with some scattered staining well clear from the sweet spot autograph. A very early, and hence desirable, Ruth representation. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
