Legends of the Bronx get their first taste of Fall Classic action

1915-96 New York Yankees Greats First World Series Appearance Ticket Stubs Lot of 11. "One night I was watching a quiz show on TV and the question was, 'Name a baseball team synonymous with winning,' reported Billy Martin, owner of five Championship rings as a player and manager. "One girl said, 'Dodgers.' The other girl said, 'Giants.' That made me madder than hell. I kept saying, 'Yankees, you dummies.' And of course the answer was the Yankees." Love them or hate them, their twenty-seven seasons as the last Major League team standing establishes the Bronx Bombers as the most prolific winners in American professional sports, a record that is likely to stand for eternity. As Hall of Fame pitcher Whitey Ford once said, "You kind of took it for granted around the Yankees that there was always going to be baseball in October."

But even so, there's nothing like the first time, and this truly unique assembly recounts the World Series debuts of eleven present and future residents of Monument Park. Each stub is encapsulated by PSA. The itemization:

    1) Babe Ruth: 1915 Game One, Authentic. Population four, one higher.
    2) Lou Gehrig: 1926 Game One, Authentic. Population ten.
    3) Joe DiMaggio: 1936 Game One, Authentic. Population nine.
    4) Phil Rizzuto: 1941 Game One, EX 5. Population ten, none higher.
    5) Yogi Berra: 1947 Game One, Authentic. Population nine.
    6) Whitey Ford: 1950 Game Four, Authentic. Population thirty.
    7) Mickey Mantle: 1951 Game One, VG-EX 4. Population fifteen, none higher.
    8) Reggie Jackson: 1973 Game One, VG-EX 4. Population nine, two higher.
    9) Thurman Munson: 1976 Game One, Authentic. Population thirteen.
    10) Derek Jeter: 1996 Game One, Authentic. Population twelve.
    11) Mariano Rivera: 1996 Game Two, EX-MT 6. Population nine, two higher.

Though it would be nearly impossible to recreate this collection, there remains room for enhancement, so this is a lot that will be of particular appeal to those hobbyists looking for a project. Each addition should increase the value of the whole beyond the sum of the new parts, so it's likewise a smart target for the investment-minded collector.
