Description

1913 Ty Cobb Signed Stock Certificate. The Georgia Peach famously became one of the wealthiest figures in baseball, having made a fortune through investment in a little Georgia beverage company called Coca-Cola. Here we see evidence of his expanding portfolio, a stock certificate for eight shares in The Vickery National Bank of Lavonia, Georgia fifteen minutes from his Royston hometown. Note that while the "Tyrus R. Cobb" written twice on the front of the certificate are not in the legendary ballplayer's hand, the 9/10 black fountain pen example on reverse selling the shares is the genuine article. The certificate is affixed to its original stub at left, forming a single document with dimensions of 8x12". Condition EX. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
