    Description

    The Topps company goes small..

1975 Topps Mini Baseball Factory Sealed Case with Sixteen Wax Boxes. It's a popular aphorism that good things come in small packages, and it's a principle that the Topps company took to heart in 1975 when they briefly reversed the trading card enlargement trend they had pioneered decades earlier to debut the Topps Mini. The issue is aesthetically identical to the far more common standard-sized set of the same year, but twenty percent smaller in dimension, perfect for the hands of a younger demographic of collector.

But the physical size of the cards themselves isn't the only thing that is smaller, as a study of the PSA population chart finds submissions at only forty percent of the Minis' larger siblings. And, like the standard-format issue, high-grade specimens are particularly scarce, primarily due to the colorful but unforgiving full-bleed printing format that offers no place for even the slightest amount of wear to hide.

Presented is a thrilling opportunity to own a veritable time capsule, sealed over four decades ago at the Topps factory with sixteen (16) wax boxes inside, each containing thirty-six (36) unopened packs. Those brave enough to break the seals will find untouched rookie cards of George Brett, Robin Yount, Jim Rice, Gary Carter and Fred Lynn. Other Hall of Famers include Aaron (#'s 1 and 660), Rose, Schmidt, Bench, Seaver, Jackson and Ryan, as well as the MVP cards, team cards, checklists and '74 Highlights. The box presents nicely with no signs of damage.
