Signed 1926-29 Exhibits Walter Johnson (Red-Postcard Back) PSA Good 2 (MK), PSA/DNA Auto 8 -- The Only Example in the PSA/DNA Pop Report! We've all heard the old joke about the long-suffering franchise which the Big Train represented for the entirety of his twenty-one-season Hall of Fame playing career: "Washington: First in war, first in peace, and last in the American League." But this 1926-29 Exhibit with a postcard format reverse finds the inaugural class Hall of Famer standing tall during the twilight of his career as pennant winners and a World Championship. The flame-throwing right-hander is captured following through after one of his slow, lazy wind-ups having just delivered his legendary fastball. While there is light pencil notation and a nickel-sized spot of black paper adhered to the surface, both affect the reverse. Aside from one small surface imperfection at his left eye and four modestly worn corners, the image area remains mercifully free of any condition distractions. The same can be said for the black fountain pen autograph that possibly dates to Johnson's late active duty.The scarce Exhibit has been graded PSA Good 2 (MK) while his sharp signature has been certified and graded PSA/DNA Auto 8. This is the one and only entry for this card on the PSA/DNA census report.
