Description

Circa 1960 Trading Card & Bubble Gum Vending Machine. One of the great laments of the baseball card collecting hobby is the death of the bubble gum tradition, those sugary treats that added that extra fun to the opening of wax packs. A variation on that extinct theme was the vending machine that let kids satisfy their sugar cravings and love of saving trading cards for the price of two cents. The cards currently on display behind the glass are as found, the cards included have called this nostalgic gem home for the last 50+ years. The machine is in operating order and all original. The candy in the center section is vintage and should you choose to consume one is it at your own risk. The only modern parts are the two keys that allow you to open the top portion so you can switch out the cards and gum to your heart's content and the back tray so collect all your pennies. A great reminder of a bygone era. Dimensions are approx. 6x13x13". Overall condition is very close to excellent with minor areas of rust around bottom and area of paint scuffing. On display are two cards from the 1960 Ad-Trix Co. "Tales of the Vikings" series and two 1960 Topps cards including a Roger Maris All-Star card.
