1928 Fro-Joy Babe Ruth "The Babe Lines One Out! #3 PSA NM-MT 8. In the late-1920's, the General Ice Cream Corp. honored two athletes to promote their products - Jack Dempsey in 1927 and Babe Ruth in 1928. For what must have been a frenzied week, the Ruth cards were only available from August 6 to 11, 1928 where stores offered a set of six cards featuring the man who readily admitted he was having better years than the president. The cards came courtesy of the General Ice Cream Corporation for their Fro-Joy Ice Cream brand. A special premium was also offered enticing kids to give up their treasured cards and mail them in to receive a handsome Babe Ruth premium. Offered is card #3 titled "Bang! The Babe Lines One Out!"
