    Description

1921 W516-2-1 Ty Cobb #5 PSA NM-MT 8 - The Highest Graded Example! In 1921, Ty Cobb couldn't buy enough hits to win the batting crown. On 197 hits Cobb batted an incredible .389 but lost the title to Harry Heilmann who batted .394! These obscure "W" release must have paled in comparison to the National Caramel and American Caramel style issues of the same era as they were small but did not lack for star power. The offered example of card #5 features Ty Cobb, graded PSA NM-MT 8. This set is identified by the flipped images (hard to tell without a comparison) but confirmed by the backward "IFC" and copyright logo. Currently, only 13 total examples have been graded by PSA.
