1921 E121 American Caramel Co. Babe Ruth SGC VG-EX+ 4.5 - Pop One, One Higher! It had taken the Babe just twenty-five games to match Frank "Home Run" Baker's best during his spectacular 1921 season, one commonly considered the finest of Ruth's storied career. The decadent Roaring Twenties had found its perfect athletic representative. A man with a child's name who loomed larger than life in every way. "I wish him all the luck in the world," Yankees teammate Frank "Home Run" Baker told the press midway through the 1921 season. "He has everybody else, including myself, hopelessly outclassed." It's likely that the aging star of Connie Mack's "$100,000 Infield" felt a bit sheepish about his own moniker as he shared a dugout with Ruth, having never put more than a dozen into the seats during any season of his own career.

Although it was not the first time that the World Series was confined to a single city, the 1921 Fall Classic was noteworthy as the first to feature the perennially October-active New York Yankees, who met their Polo Grounds landlords the New York Giants in the first of fourteen future Big Apple "Subway Series." In many ways, the contest proved to be a battle between the Dead Ball Era that the National League Champions represented, and the nascent power game that emanated from the bat of the Yankees' star slugger Babe Ruth.

Prepared by the American Caramel Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania right at the time of Ruth's historic trade to the Yankees, the caption reads "George Ruth, L.F. - New York Americans" but the image is of the Babe pitching in his Red Sox uniform. Graded SGC VG-EX+ 4.5. One of ten total "George Ruth" examples graded by SGC with only one higher!
