1921-23 E220 National Caramel Babe Ruth PSA Good 2. While the superstar slugger's claim to fame was his habit of hitting home runs, his unfailing generosity of spirit ensured that his would be the most popular of all pre-war sporting legends. The tremendous demand for his cards and autograph for that matter, has nonetheless powered a sustained upward trajectory throughout the last 100 years since his baseball debut. Historically, the Babe's cards have been the hobby's hottest commodity. It has been commonly and properly stated that every great sports card collection begins with the Babe. This card is extracted from the scarcer National Caramel series of 120 cards issued from 1921 to 1923. Babe Ruth by far is the key card and what makes this scarcity extra appealing is that it is considered the earliest card to present a photographic portrait of Ruth in his classic Yankees pinstripes.

Graded PSA Good 2. It is one of only seventeen total submissions, and that is counting qualified submissions to PSA. For a Ruth card that is a startling low number. It is one of five in Good with three higher. The front and back are bright with mild staining in spots. A crisp full-figure depiction of the man who didn't just play baseball, he helped shape the 20th century graces the front. This series is both famous, or infamous for having irregular cuts but this card shows parallel horizontal and vertical edges. A scarce Ruth card and a great alternative to the more mainstream issues of the era.
