    Description

1920 W519-1 Decalco Litho Co. Babe Ruth (Numbered) #5 PSA Authentic. Pending more information in regards to an exact date of issue the W519 series gave baseball fans and card collectors one of, if not the first card of Babe Ruth dressed in his Yankees finest. The day after Christmas in 1919 the x-mas smiles of Boston baseball fans would turn upside down as history was made when the Red Sox sold Ruth to the hated Yankees for $100,000 and the rest is history. Offered is his W519-1 Numbered strip card issued in 1920. The card is #5 in the series and clearly shows that trademark grin and the unquestionable Yankees logo on his cap. Encapsulated PSA Authentic. PSA has reviewed only thirteen total examples, only two have numeric grades (both Poor).

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
