    Description

1915 W-Unc Philadelphia Athletics, Team Composite SGC Authentic Plus Matching Police Gazette Supplement. These approx. 1-3/4 x 2-3/4" Black & White cards are still a mystery should one need to know who made them. With new discoveries we know 1915 is a logical issue date and the number of known subjects stands at 25 players and two team cards. The portraits are a mix of unique contemporary images, M101-4 and M101-5 series portraits and images from years prior to their circulation. The known line up is packed with all-time greats like Cobb, Mathewson, Lajoie and Wagner. Offered is one of two different cards featuring the 1914 American League Pennant Winners, the Philadelphia Athletics. This version is a team composite with 16 players and manager Connie Mack. The card is hand cut while measuring full size. Graded SGC Authentic, this is the only example of this card reviewed by SGC! Also included is a November 7, 1914 Police Gazette Supplement (PR, pieces missing and tape) featuring the same Athletics team composite used to create the card.
