Description

1915 E145-2 Cracker Jack Chief Bender #19 SGC 96 Mint 9 - Pop Two, None Higher! Graded 96 Mint 9 by SGC. The Bender story is really one of the least appreciated in baseball lore -- somehow this great talent, one of the finest pitchers of the Dead Ball era, has flown under the radar while others of lesser talent have garnered more attention. We intend to change that with this truly remarkable card dating from the Championship Philadelphia Athletics star's defection to the upstart Federal League. This brightly hued collectible most likely derived from one of Cracker Jack's cherished "factory sets"-offers incomparable projection of color from its perfectly framed illustration. The intensity of the card's red tones cannot be overemphasized, and its white areas are beautifully and completely untoned. The four corners are razor sharp. This is a worthy and exceptional collectible from this Hall of Fame right-hander. True Mint condition. One of two cards at his lofty tier, with no example graded higher.
