Description

1915 Cracker Jack Mordecai Brown #32 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. A childhood farming accident proved to be the ultimate blessing in disguise for the 1949 posthumous Hall of Fame inductee. "That old paw served me pretty well in its time," Brown once said of the injured hand that earned him the "Three Finger" nickname. "It gave me a firmer grip on the ball, so I could spin it over the hump. It gave me a greater dip." From 1904 to 1912, all with the Chicago Cubs, Brown would average a 21-9 W-L record with an era of 1.75. Offered is one of the final cards issued of Brown during his career which by 1915 was with St. Louis of the Federal League. This card offers a tremendous amount of quality and little in terms of flaws. The "worst" we can find is some modest corner tip wear and a factory angle cut. Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8, this card is one of three graded NM/MT by SGC with just one other example grading higher.
