1915 Cracker Jack Grover Cleveland Alexander #37 PSA NM 7. As the second year appearance of the all-time great, collectors of Cracker Jacks, 300 Game Winners, and Hall of Famer specialists lacking a high grade example of this troubled legend. His alcoholism, epilepsy and post-traumatic stress from World War I horrors couldn't derail one of the most remarkable pitching careers in baseball history. He is a study in contradiction. A marvel on the mound earning a place within the Hall of Fame's inaugural class. A brilliant athlete who succumbed to his personal demons after leaving the limelight down an unfortunate path that ultimately led to an ignominious death in a Nebraska boarding house in 1950. He is most famous for striking out Tony Lazzeri with two outs in the bottom of the seventh and the bases full the '26 World Series. Alexander was roused to enter the game in relief to protect a three to two Cardinals lead. The offered example has every qualification of being a crowning touch atop any advanced vintage collection. Graded PSA NM 7 for a well centered portrait, white borders and a rich red background.
