Description
1914 T222 Fatima Walter Johnson SGC Authentic. John Esch collection. Standing shoulder to shoulder next to the names Cobb, Wagner and Jackson is the Washington Senators' mound master Walter Johnson. So accomplished at his craft, Johnson was one of the first five players to be inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame in 1936. Cobb even commented once, "His fastball looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed." Our offered real-photo card is from the T222 Fatima Players series of 1914 which was one of the more ambitious sports premium promotions for the era. Our offered card obviously has a small piece missing from the upper right corner. The seemingly inevitable crease are present but to not greatly impact visual appeal.
