Description

1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson #103 SGC Good+ 2.5. John Esch collection. It was 1914 when this now classic and highly sought-after card rolled off the presses and into a box of Cracker Jack. For a card made of thin paper, it has survived very nicely with no major faults. The man who is featured is beyond popular, he is a certified "Shoeless" legend. Joe Jackson is one the game's greatest hitters. He is pictured during what would be his last full season with Cleveland before his fateful move to Chicago. It's so perfect that he wields his trusty Black Betsy gripped tightly in his calloused farm boy hands. His bat even guides the eye to the "Cracker Jack Ball Players" advertising. We should also note the scarcity of the 1914 series overall compared to the '15 edition.

Graded SGC Good+ 2.5. The total SGC population is just twenty-two cards. With no mail-in promotion available, finding cards totally devoid of the sticky candy extract or soiling is a monumental task. Our offered card has kept any of that to a minimum. This is a strong, collector-grade example of one of the toughest singles in the hobby.
