    The only PSA example known!

1912 T215 Pirate Cigarettes Frank Chance PSA Authentic. Those unfamiliar with the issue are to be forgiven, as the Pirate Cigarettes breed ranks with the most uncommon of the Tobacco Era, so rare that many have considered their existence to be mere rumor. The intense scarcity today is a function of a limited production run, more than a century of elapsed time since that production, and their original distribution half a world away. Appropriating the graphics of the also-obscure T215 Red Cross issue, Pirate Cigarettes baseball cards were inserted into cigarette packs sold to American and British military forces stationed in the South Pacific in 1912. Very few made the return trip to the West.

Only nine examples appear within the entirety of the PSA population chart, with Gabby Street the only duplicate. Thus it should go without saying that the opportunity at ownership afforded here may well be your last. The globetrotting member of the last Chicago Cubs World Championship dynasty returns from the Far East looking like a newborn hatchling, assigned a grade of "Authentic" only due to the fact that these cards were cut by hand. The appearance of the card would find it appropriately situated beneath a NM header otherwise.

We also provide a vintage ten-count sliding tray and shell pack of "Pirate" Cigarettes, still containing its tobacco and silver lining inside (but no trading card). The pack presents in EX-MT condition.
