1912 T207 Brown Background Walter Johnson SGC 55 VG/EX+ 4.5. The Major League all-time leader in shutouts; the American League MVP in 1913 and 1924 so it should be no surprise contemporaries recalled his pitches as nearly invisible, arriving with a "swoosh" and smashing into the catcher's mitt like a thunderclap. Walter Johnson is set off nicely with help from the deep chocolate background on this "Recruit" T207 tobacco insert card. Graded a SGC 55 VG/EX+ 4.5, this card exhibits great colors, admirable centering and modest corner wear that is missing the top layer of the surface at the tips.
