    Description

1912 T207 Brown Background Irving Lewis, With Emblem SGC 40 VG 3. This is the highest graded example of only two confirmed submissions of the "With Emblem" variation as noted on the SGC census report. The uninformed would never guess this unassuming 100-year old Irving Lewis card is one of the most famous cards in the hobby. This card is unquestionably scarce to begin with, the chase for a legitimate variation has left even the most passionate T207 enthusiasts more than pleased to have one example in any condition. From an old collection and being offered for the first time, this solid SGC 40 VG 3 is close to being free of blemishes and scuffing; coloring is deep and rich, a lone corner crease cements the SGC assessment. Ironically, one of the preeminent cards of our hobby features a player who never appeared in a major league game.
