1911 T212-3 Obak Ten Million SGC Authentic. John Esch collection. "Obak" gave the hobby three classic series issued in 1909, '10 and '11, each dedicated to Pacific Coast League players. The 1909 set is famous for scarcity and Chick Gandil. The 1910 set for its colors and glossy format. The 1911 issue has Chicago Black Sox Buck Weaver and this man - Ten Million of Victoria. Unfortunately, he is more famous for his name than for any accomplishments on the field. Many think this was his nick-name, with good reason but it is not. That is his birth name. Already one of the hobby's more fascinating cards, some have said the likeness is that of Nap Lajoie. For the vintage collector it is a top conversation piece. Encapsulated SGC Authentic. The back appears blank and has a very faint ghosted '11 Obak ad but has roughness in areas. There are two removed stamp mounts and the card was most likely soaked out of an album.
