Description

1911 T205 Gold Border Walter Johnson GAI NM-MT+ 8.5. The 23 year old Kansas fireballer had yet to notch his 100th of 417 career wins at the time this gorgeous card was issued, an exceptionally high-grade specimen from one of tobacco's most picturesque sets. We must look very close to spot any deviation from perfection, as the image area is beyond reproach and front and rear surfaces are remarkably clean. An idea of the scarcity of such a fine card? There is no example on the PSA pop report higher than an "8" and none that have topped SGC's top example of an "86 NM+ 7.5."

This GAI NM-MT+ 8.5 exemplar presents it's amazing gold borders and four corners, with only the lightest amount of touching visible. A crystal clear surface, with strong registration presents Johnson's vibrant portrait shot.

One of the cleanest T205 cards Heritage has ever handled, and one of the most important cards from the famed tobacco issue, the quality on this cardboard treasure is nothing less than one-of-a-kind.
