Description
1911 E94 Close Candy Sherry Magee "Your Out!" Overprint SGC 60 EX 5. For the E94 enthusiast this card has everything - quality, desirable color variant and displays a rare reverse advertising. The player is Sherry Magee of the famed T206 "Magie" error. The card is graded SGC 60 EX 5 which makes it one of the finest E94 Magee cards in an SGC holder. The background color is the coveted purple variety and the back displays a rare "Your Out! If You Don't Eat Close's Oppie Dildocks" overprint stamp on the reverse! Visually it is an impressive card and overcomes the challenge of finding another with this color and overprint combination.More Information: Who was Opie Dildock?
During that era there was a cartoon strip called "Old Opie Dildock's Stories." The cartoons told wild, over the top tall-tales of Opie and the Dildock clan and their made up adventures. Example, in 1913 one story was about how Opie played catch with and octopus so of course he took him to a baseball game of course. Considering the theme of the cartoon, it isn't surprising this back advertised "suckers."
