Description

1910 E96 Philadelphia Caramel Napoleon Lajoie PSA EX 5. At the time, could Carl Horner have known he was photographing a future Hall of Famer and one of the All-Time Great second basemen? Could he have known the portrait would act as the source image employed on numerous Lajoie cards including his T206, Fan Craze, Souvenir PC, E103 Williams Caramel, E107 Breisch Williams and W600 appearances? Offered is one of the finest E96 Philadelphia Caramel cards featuring Lajoie and a worthy tribute to the man who batted .426 in 1901, which is still an American League record. A gorgeous card with unimprovable colors, close to precise centering. The front is blemish-free with a bright white border. The reverse is clean and physically unspoiled save for an area along the bottom showing a modest stain. Graded PSA EX 5. Considering how nice this card is, we are guessing it was submitted to PSA with the "no qualifiers" box checked off. On the PSA scale, "five" is the average. There is nothing average about this card. One of six graded EX with five (all EX/MT) rated higher.
